Chicago is the latest municipality to contemplate a city-wide restriction on using natural gas in residential buildings.
“Dubbed the “Clean and Affordable Building Ordinance” (CABO), this measure would prohibit any new building in Chicago from having a gas hook-up. To help counter this hasty policy decision, HPBA and the Midwest HPBA affiliate have joined a coalition of like-minded groups to amplify the message that this policy is bad for the environment, business, and the people of Chicago.
The Coalition is called the Clean Energy Choice Coalition (CECC)—whose mission is to stabilize the electrical grid, the economy, and our communities—to advocate for the fair treatment of our products as we pursue a clean energy future.”
