Outdoor living has no limits other than your imagination.
Steel & Iron
Steel and wrought iron patio furniture is full of unique detail and has a wide variety of styles. Often paired with cushions, this furniture is comfortable but heavy which makes it ideal for windy locations, but cumbersome if you plan on rotating furniture around for different gatherings. Many of these options will be powder coated, giving it a tough finish for outdoor use and a protective barrier against rusting.
Cast Aluminum
Aluminum patio furniture is generally lighter weight than steel or iron but will still have the same aspects of cast metal, including a protective powder coat finish. These will also predominantly come with cushions for a cozy set that’s indoor quality.
Tubular Aluminum
Tubular aluminum will be the lightest option for metal furniture made from welded sections of square or round extruded aluminum tubes that are then given a protective powder coat finish. This option will also usually include a cushion but there are more cushion-less options in this category.
IPE Wood
Ipe (ee-pay) is a very dense wood that makes it the ideal wood option for windy areas. It has a rot rate even lower than teak to ensure it will last you years to come. However, it does require yearly maintenance to keep the beautiful red hue. More often than not, Ipe furniture is crafted in a way that does not require a cushion but there are deep seating and padded options for your needs.
Teak Wood
Teak is a classic option for patio and sunroom furniture. It is a hardwood with a low rot rate that will last for years outdoors with the proper yearly maintenance. When purchasing teak for your outdoor living space, be aware that there are different grades of teak that will weather differently outside. Here at Maschino’s, we like to source A grade teak, the highest quality piece from the heartwood of the tree.
Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus wood is softer than Ipe or teak but is still a strong wood that’s rated for outdoor use. You will have to maintain this wood with a sealer once a year to keep the finish bright and the wood healthy.
Polymer
Ever growing in popularity for its easy care and customization options, resin furniture is a great option for many situations. Also known as Marine Grade Polymer (MGP), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and even made from recycled milk jugs – this furniture is heavy and great for windy areas like balconies and boat docks.
Wicker
Modern wicker patio furniture is not your grandma’s wicker. Now made from polyresin weaves that are UV rated and suited for outdoor conditions, wicker is available in the traditional styles as well as more contemporary options.
Outdoor Heaters
Infrared heaters are the perfect solution for being able to enjoy your outdoor living space year-round. By using infrared heating technology, the heat will not simply ‘blow away’ when a light breeze comes through. These units do need to be hardwired into your electrical panel. With multiple options such as mounted, recessed, or even free-standing, we are confident there is something to suit your space!
